In late April I was honored to be able to take a hunter Yak hunting using the Umarex 50 caliber air rifle. At first, I was apprehensive that the gun would be powerful and accurate enough to take down an animal the size of a Yak. I was so impressed with the gun after the yak hunt, that when I was offered the opportunity to go on the Airgun Hunting Legion hunt in Texas, I jumped on it.This hunt was so well organized and we were all given appropriate range time to practice with experts, then the fun part began. My guide and I hunted for two days before getting a clean shot at the Blackbuck we were after. Once again, the Hammer didn’t disappoint, and with one clean shot, the Blackbuck was down. He was over 50” and considered a trophy buck by any means, but the excitement grew as I found out he was the new world record. I grew up hunting with my family and have been a guide myself, but I have to say this hunt was one of the most fun and memorable I have been on.
