This was my first ever beat hunt. This was the second night in the stand and as soon as he started walking in there was no doubt he was a shooter. I waited for him to settle at the bait and then let the arrow go. That airbow is so fast I wasn’t sure if I hit him good or not. He was gone so fast I wasn’t sure. Then I heard that moan and felt a little better. It sounded like he was just 10 or 20 feet into the brush. I waited for about 30 minutes and decided to get down and walk over and see if I could see him. That is when the rodeo started. My hands had gotten so cold while I waited I guess I could tie a good knot. Anyway as I lowered my Airgun the knot untied and the gun fell. In the process the rope snagged the broadhead on the gun and as the gun fell and the arrow was pulled from the barrel the arrow actually bent the barrel. So now I have a non functioning weapon and a bear I hope is dead. I’m not going to lie I was back up in the tree until the outfitter came to pick me up and we then went the 10 yards into the thick brush to find this big ol boy. Can’t wait to go again!
